Share your thoughts about the price of celebrity, and whether it
seems worth it to you.
I feel really divided. On the one hand, who wouldn't want to be a celebrity? I mean it's the ultimate as far as knowing you've made it in this profession. My misgivings pop up whenever I see an embarrassing headline in a tabloid or hear a star's private life being talked about on television. I'm a very private person. But, I guess, if I had to choose I'd rather be famous (with all the crap) than be ignored and broke.
Despite the drawbacks to celebrity, I think most everyone would feel it's worth it. It means you've reached your goal. How you control it so it doesn't ruin your life is the main problem but it can be done. Look at JAYLO, Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, etc. Classical musicians or dancers don't usually have those problems - it's mostly rock stars, pop singers or movie actors.
